Genetics and Exercise: Exercise can alter Genetics

DNA Genetics and Exercise! How many times i have been disucssing this fact with my clients and now we have some data to certify the power of exercise on our genes so everyone using the same excuse that everythng is detemrined by our genes try another one buddy! Yes a lot of our existence is determined by our genes but not all of it!

A study from scientists at Lund University found that exercise induces genome-wide changes in DNA methylation in human adipose tissue, potentially affecting adipocyte metabolism.

Exercise, even in small doses, changes the expression of our innate DNA. New research from Lund University in Sweden has described for the first time what happens on an epigenetic level in fat cells when we undertake physical activity.

You know, they also did a study on caffiene consumption and how it enhances the way genes turn on to help muscles contract and increase RNA production… So in theory.. if I consume Lennys iced coffee roughly 50 times a day my body will produce the same RNA as excerise. 😉
